Homeless Prevention
Project Understanding has a number of programs designed to help people get back on their feet, providing a place to live and become self reliant.
Homeless to Home (H2H)
Homeless 2 Home (H2H) focuses on building relationships and supporting chronically homeless individuals who have tried traditional means of acquiring housing yet remain homeless. Finding appropriate housing for our clients includes assessing the individual's overall health, financial options, personal goals, and support system. We also provide field case management services to homeless individuals who desire to change their lifestyle for the better.
Homeless 2 Home's other focus is homeless prevention, preserving at-risk individuals and families, and keeping them housed and safe.

First Step Center
First Step Center serves as the point of entry where our case managers help identify barriers and overcome the problems faced by those in need. By analyzing each individual's unique situation, we help them to achieve the highest level of self-support. Our case managers assist clients with realistic objectives, goals, and referrals to other community resources. Project Understanding guides and supports clients during the process, monitoring their progress and providing a system of accountability and mentorship. Through case management and assistance, we strive to prevent homelessness as well as assist those that are chronically homeless.
