Volunteer

FOCUS ON FOOD PANTRY

  • Pantry distributors or substitutes: MWF 10 am - Noon. Requires minimum 6 month commitment / 2 days per month.
  • Be a regular pick-up person for food from FoodShare and other donors; M-S by arrangement.
  • Food bagging parties to be arranged for bulk food donation.

RECEPTION CENTER

  • Case Assistant: M-F 8:30 am - 11:30 am. Requires minimum 6 month commitment / 2 days per month.
  • Host/Hostess/Assistant: M-F 8 am - Noon.
  • Substitute Receptionist: M-F by arrangement 8 am - Noon or 1 pm - 4 pm.

SARAH CENTER

  • Host/hostess at the center: Volunteer one day per month or as often as you want. Volunteers hand out towels, shower supplies, daily mail, laundry supplies, and update bulletin board.
  • Volunteer person to collect shower supplies, bar soap, combs, razors, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, combs, mouthwash, sewing kits, and towels for SARAH Center.

TUTORING

  • Tutor one or two elementary students for one hour each week.
  • Filing, clerical, help organize educational materials.

TRANSITION HOUSE

  • Become a mentor to a family. Requires minimum 6 month commitment, weekly contact with family

ADMINISTRATION

  • Filing and clerical work by arrangement. You can volunteer on a regular schedule or as a one time volunteer.
  • Prepare newsletter for bulk mailing on the last Friday 9 am - Noon each month.

Project Understanding also needs volunteers to help with technical support of computers, building repairs and maintenance and groups who wish to do one-day projects!
