1st Tutoring Center in Santa Paula

Monday, December 8 was a landmark day for Project Understanding. We opened our first Tutoring Center in Santa Paula!

Maria Gonzalez, Tutoring Program Manager, had been working for months with Dr. Stephanie D’Augustine, at Santa Paula Paula Medical Clinic West. On Monday they forged dreams into reality as they opened the Tutoring Center, Project’s first service center in Santa Paula. Because the clinic is at 254 W. Harvard Blvd, this center is named Harvard Learning Center.

Virgil Nelson, early Executive Director of Project Understanding, grew up in Santa Paula. We have been serving Santa Paula residents with our Food Pantry. Finally, after almost forty years, Project Understanding is delighted to help people face to face, every week, in Santa Paula!

Thank you Dr. D’Augustine and your amazing staff at Santa Paula Medical Clinic West! How long will it be until the first student from Harvard Learning Center enrolls at Harvard University?
