“My passion in all of my roles in life is investing myself into helping people enrich their lives. My goal every day is to serve my Lord and Savior here on earth by serving others he puts in front of me and loving them as he loves me.”
Patricia was born and raised in Danville, Virginia. She entered the medical profession and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1969. The military brought her and her husband to California in 1970. Their two sons were born and raised in the area and she has been living in Ventura since 1978. Her ultimate goal was to become a nurse practitioner even before most people understood what that meant as a profession. In 1985 she graduated from the University of California at Davis as a Family Nurse Practitioner and continued to work in that capacity until her retirement from Primary Medical Group in July 2016.
Patricia is an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Ventura where she serves on the church council, endowment board, missions committee and is chairperson of the Happy Ventures Preschool.
After retirement she said she wanted to get out into the community and find ways to serve and to get to know other people with the same interest. “I feel that Project Understanding found me at just the perfect moment in time.” She is very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of an organization that gives not only a hand out, but also a hand up to so many in need.
