Faith in Action Community Ministry Summit

6:30pm Thursday, October 22

Poinsettia Pavilion

How does God’s call to “Love your neighbor as yourself” show in the life of your ministry?  Come share your story and learn from other congregations!
Who are the vulnerable and marginalized that you serve? Widows, orphans, homeless, immigrants, special needs?…
What are the tools with which you love?  Education, food, housing, professional skills, special events?…
We are better together.  Bring a team from your congregation!  Register at 6:00pm, munch, and begin our conversation.

Fill-A-Van with Back-to-School Backpacks

As we rapidly approach the first day of school, Project Understanding is asking for your help with basic school supply donations. Our tutoring sites and pantry families are in need of backpacks and the basic items needed for kids to start their year with confidence.  Our goal is to arm each child with the tools they need to succeed. Project Understanding currently has 11 tutoring centers throughout Ventura County, in El Rio, Oxnard, Santa Paula, Saticoy and Ventura. Our Food Pantry allows over 1,000 people to use their funds to stay housed while not sacrificing their access to food.

Help Fill-A-Van!

Project will park the van at the top of the Pacific View Mall on the NW section of the parking lot for the next few Wednesdays from 10am-2pm and accept donations.
